Tesla Cybertruck in Chandigarh: Planned-City Avenues, Himalayan Weekends and a Stainless Steel Truck

Overview

Chandigarh is unlike any other Indian city. Le Corbusier's grid of sectors, its tree-lined boulevards and its roundabouts give it a calm, orderly character, while the wider tricity of Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur carries the confident, big-vehicle culture of Punjab and Haryana. Full-size SUVs and lifted pickups are a familiar sight on Madhya Marg. Even so, the Tesla Cybertruck stops people in their tracks. It does not look like a bigger, bolder version of anything; it looks like nothing else at all.

The truck available through Big Boy Toyz is the Cyberbeast, the fastest and most powerful Cybertruck. Its three electric motors produce 845 hp (630 kW), it covers 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, and its EPA range is about 515 km. Instead of painted panels, it wears an Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless steel exoskeleton with Tesla Armor Glass. Tesla revealed the design in 2019, and US buyers took delivery of the first trucks in November 2023.

Tesla's Indian sales began in July 2025 with the Model Y, and the Cybertruck is not offered by Tesla India. BBT's Cyberbeast is priced at ₹3.99 crore, imported and unregistered, and the buyer registers it in their own name, whether in Chandigarh, Punjab or Haryana, with guidance from BBT.

Big Boy Toyz does not operate a showroom in the tricity. Buyers should contact BBT directly, and the nearest showroom is in Gurugram, at Plot No. 134, Sector 37, Pace City 1. For a tricity owner, the Cybertruck brings silent comfort to sector roads, air suspension for farm tracks and enough range and luggage space for a run up to Kasauli or Shimla. Contact BBT to arrange a viewing.

Model Features

Strip the Cybertruck down to its specification and it remains extraordinary. This is what the Cyberbeast offered to tricity buyers through BBT brings.

  • Tri-motor all-wheel drive: a front motor and two rear motors deliver a combined 845 hp (630 kW).
  • Speed: 0 to 60 mph takes 2.6 seconds; top speed is about 209 km/h.
  • Battery: about 123 kWh, good for roughly 515 km on the EPA cycle.
  • Body: Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless steel, unpainted, forming a structural exoskeleton.
  • Glass: Tesla Armor Glass, built to resist chips from gravel on hill roads.
  • Steering: steer-by-wire needing only about 340 degrees lock to lock, with rear-wheel steering of up to 10 degrees.
  • Suspension: adaptive air springs, raising ground clearance to about 443 mm.
  • Electrical architecture: an 800V system split into two 400V halves, plus a 48V low-voltage network.
  • Charging: up to 325 kW DC on Tesla's V4 chargers in the US and up to 11.5 kW AC.
  • Powershare: 9.6 kW of power through 120V and 240V outlets, with 11.5 kW vehicle-to-home support in its home market.
  • Utility: a lockable 6 by 4 foot vault of about 67 cubic feet, a 7 cubic foot frunk, around 1,134 kg payload and 11,000 lb (about 4,990 kg) towing.

In a region where pickups and big SUVs are a way of life, no other truck offers this blend of power, technology and sheer audacity.

Variants

The Cybertruck family has gone through several changes since Tesla started deliveries. The present US range is made up of:

  • Dual Motor AWD: 600 hp, 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, about 523 km of range, coil springs paired with adaptive dampers and a 7,500 lb tow capacity.
  • Premium AWD: 600 hp with air suspension, a 9.4-inch screen for rear passengers, 15 speakers and 11,000 lb towing.
  • Cyberbeast: the three-motor range-topper, with 845 hp, 2.6 seconds to 60 mph and about 515 km of range.

Earlier, Tesla sold the Foundation Series with special badging and bundled features until January 2025, offered a Long Range RWD version from April to September 2025 and cancelled a planned range extender in 2025. For tricity buyers who want the most capable and most dramatic version, the Cyberbeast is the clear choice.

Colours

Tesla builds the Cybertruck in just one finish: raw, brushed stainless steel, with no paint at all. Owners who prefer a colour or want extra protection use paint protection film. Tesla's own wraps include:

  • Satin Clear: keeps the steel visible while protecting it from stone chips and grime.
  • Satin Stealth Black: a bold, blacked-out look that suits Punjab's love of dark, imposing trucks.
  • Satin Abyss Blue: a deep, polished blue.
  • Forest Green: at home on a drive through the pine forests above Parwanoo.
  • Satin Rose Gold: for owners who want to be noticed at every wedding baraat.

Given the gravel on hill roads and the dust of farm tracks, a clear film is a sensible base for most owners.

Fuel Efficiency and Mileage

An all-electric truck changes the conversation from mileage to range and charging. The Cyberbeast is rated at about 515 km on the EPA cycle. In the tricity, the seasons shape real-world range. Chandigarh's winters are cold, and on chilly December and January mornings a battery operates less efficiently until it warms up. Summers bring heat and heavy air-conditioning use. Hill driving adds another dimension: climbing to Kasauli or Shimla consumes extra energy, but long descents return some of it through regenerative braking, which also eases the load on the brakes.

  • Home charging: the onboard charger takes up to 11.5 kW of AC power. Owners in sector kothis, Mohali or Panchkula houses, or farmhouses on the edge of the tricity will generally charge on a home wallbox installed by a qualified electrician.
  • DC fast charging: rated at up to 325 kW on Tesla's V4 hardware in the US, adding about 215 km in roughly 15 minutes. The truck uses the North American (NACS) port, and India's public fast chargers use another connector, so public compatibility is not something to rely on.

BBT's after-sales team can help plan your home charging. For mountain trips, set off with a full battery and a clear plan for recharging before the return leg.

Design and Comfort

Everything about the Cybertruck's design is sharp and deliberate. The body is made of flat stainless steel panels joined at crisp angles, the roof forms a single triangle, and thin light bars run across the full width at each end. Parked on the edge of Sukhna Lake or outside a Sector 17 restaurant, its reflective steel picks up the light in a way no painted vehicle can.

It is big, even by tricity standards. The Cyberbeast is roughly 5,683 mm long, 2,032 mm wide and 1,796 mm tall, on a 3,635 mm wheelbase, and weighs about 3,130 kg. Chandigarh's planned sector roads and wide V-roads handle it comfortably. Narrow hill roads beyond Dharampur and crowded markets in older parts of Zirakpur or Kharar need more care. Rear-wheel steering of up to 10 degrees makes a significant difference, helping on tight hairpins and in car parks.

The cabin is open and modern. A large glass roof fills the interior with light, five adults fit easily, and the flat rear floor makes the middle seat properly comfortable. Storage is plentiful: a lockable 6 by 4 foot vault bed under its powered tonneau, a front trunk and a hidden bin under the rear seat.

Adaptive air suspension is particularly well suited to the region. It smooths out rough rural roads and farm tracks, and it can raise the body to about 443 mm of ground clearance for broken surfaces or monsoon water. Never drive into water of unknown depth, especially near seasonal streams on the way into the hills.

Performance & Engine

The Cyberbeast uses three electric motors, one on the front axle and two on the rear, for a combined 845 hp (630 kW). That pushes the three-tonne truck from rest to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and on to about 209 km/h. The delivery is completely silent and continuous, so passengers expecting a roar get a rush instead.

Tricity roads give the Cybertruck plenty of chances to show that responsiveness. Joining the Chandigarh–Ambala highway, overtaking on the Kalka–Shimla road below Parwanoo, or pulling out of the Zirakpur traffic toward the airport all happen with almost no effort. On the climb to Kasauli or Shimla, the instant power means the truck never feels strained by the gradient.

Steer-by-wire replaces the conventional steering column. Inputs are read electronically and translated into wheel movement, with a variable ratio that needs only about 340 degrees from lock to lock. Combined with up to 10 degrees of rear-wheel steering, it makes hairpin bends on the way to the hills noticeably easier to manage. Most drivers feel at home within a day.

The adaptive air suspension sets ride height for highway, city and rough-road use, and the Cyberbeast is rated to tow up to 11,000 lb (around 4,990 kg). For a farming family moving equipment, or an owner towing a camper toward Manali, that capability is entirely real.

Interior & Technology

The Cybertruck's interior is designed around software and a single large screen. The 18.5-inch touchscreen handles climate, entertainment, driving settings, ride height and the powered tonneau. Rear passengers have a 9.4-inch screen, and 15 speakers deliver enough volume for a Punjabi playlist on the highway.

  • Wide glass roof: spectacular on a mountain drive, with the hills visible overhead.
  • 48-volt architecture: a lighter, more efficient low-voltage system than conventional 12-volt designs.
  • Powershare: 120V and 240V outlets in the cabin and bed, ideal for farmhouse functions, camping near Morni Hills or tools on the farm.
  • Designed for over-the-air updates: though connectivity and feature availability on an imported truck in India should be checked during inspection.

Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is not available in India. On tricity roads and especially on Himalayan routes, the Cybertruck is a vehicle you drive yourself, with its driver aids acting only as support.

Safety Features

The Cybertruck earned a five-star overall NHTSA rating in the US for model years 2024 and 2025. Its stainless steel exoskeleton forms a large part of its structural strength, and the Armor Glass is designed to withstand impacts that would crack ordinary glass, a benefit on gravel-strewn hill roads.

  • Automatic Emergency Braking: reacts if a collision becomes imminent.
  • Forward Collision Warning: an early alert, valuable on foggy winter mornings.
  • Lane departure avoidance: helpful on long highway drives toward Delhi or Amritsar.
  • Camera-based blind spot monitoring: important on a truck more than 2 metres wide.
  • 360-degree camera coverage: useful at farmhouse gates and in tight hill-station parking.
  • Front, side and curtain airbags covering both rows.

The Cybertruck has had several US recalls, covering parts such as the accelerator pedal, a trim panel, the light bar and wheel lug nuts. Before sale, BBT confirms which recalls apply to the truck and checks its software status.

Why Buying Used Is Smart

Importing a Cybertruck yourself is a slow, complicated process: buying abroad, arranging shipping, paying high customs duties, completing homologation and finally registering it in India. Cybertrucks imported into India have been reported at around ₹5 crore.

BBT takes much of that weight off the buyer. Its Cyberbeast is already on Indian soil, has cleared a multi-point inspection and has verified import and ownership documentation. Tricity buyers can examine the actual truck, confirm its battery and software condition, and move directly to finance and registration instead of waiting months for an import of their own.

Price Range in India

ModelPrice (₹)Notes for Chandigarh Tricity Buyers
Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast₹3.99 croreImported and unregistered, available through Big Boy Toyz. Registration is in the buyer's name, with charges varying between Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana.

BBT's price is the same in every city. Road tax and registration costs depend on where you register, so contact BBT for guidance on your case and current availability. The nearest showroom is in Gurugram.

Ownership Cost

For a tricity owner used to large diesel SUVs and pickups, the Cybertruck's running costs look very different. Electricity and routine maintenance cost little, while insurance and tyres remain the major items.

  • Charging: a full home charge generally runs to about ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 on typical residential tariffs. Daily trips between Mohali, Panchkula and the sectors are a small fraction of a single charge.
  • Maintenance: no engine oil, spark plugs, injectors or exhaust. The main expenses are tyres, brakes, suspension components and cabin filters. The work goes to specialist EV and import workshops, and BBT's after-sales team can guide you toward reliable ones.
  • Insurance: budget roughly ₹7 lakh to ₹10 lakh a year for comprehensive cover, depending on the insured value and insurer.
  • Tyres: the large all-terrain tyres cost around ₹40,000 to ₹70,000 per corner. Farm tracks and hill roads make regular checks wise.
  • Body care: a clear or coloured PPF wrap is recommended to protect the stainless finish from gravel chips and dust.
  • Home charging point: plan for a wallbox and any electrical upgrade your house or farmhouse requires.

Measured against what it offers, the Cybertruck is inexpensive to run from day to day. For tricity owners, the key commitments are insurance, tyres and the one-time effort of setting up reliable home charging and a specialist servicing relationship.

Winter habits help too. Keeping the truck in a garage on cold nights and charging it overnight so the battery is warm and full in the morning gives the best real-world range during Chandigarh's chilliest months.

Farm owners in the wider region will find one more advantage: the Powershare outlets can run tools and lights in places where a generator would otherwise be needed, and the lockable bed keeps equipment secure between jobs. That kind of everyday usefulness is what makes the truck's running costs feel well spent.

Competitors

Tricity buyers considering the Cybertruck often weigh it against a familiar group of big, bold vehicles.

  • GMC Hummer EV: another American electric giant, with around 830 hp and the CrabWalk feature.
  • Toyota Land Cruiser LC300: a perennial favourite in Punjab for its toughness and presence.
  • Nissan Patrol: a large, capable SUV with a strong following among buyers who love full-size off-roaders.
  • Mercedes-AMG G63: the luxury off-road icon with a thunderous V8.
  • Rivian R1T and Ford F-150 Lightning: electric pickups available in India only as private imports.
  • Ford F-150 Raptor and RAM TRX: petrol performance pickups that collectors in the region admire.

Buyers planning a trip to the nearest showroom can also read the Tesla Cybertruck in Delhi page. None of the alternatives matches the Cybertruck's stainless body, steer-by-wire and tri-motor acceleration.

The Brand Experience

Tesla made the electric car desirable. The 2008 Roadster proved EVs could thrill, the Model S added long range and luxury, and the Model 3 and Model Y put electric cars in driveways around the world. Over-the-air software updates and a minimalist, screen-driven cabin are now Tesla signatures.

Tesla began selling in India in July 2025 with the Model Y. The Cybertruck sits outside that official range, which makes a Cyberbeast on tricity roads a remarkably rare sight.

Notable Brand Lineup

Tesla sells a varied range around the world, and the Model Y spearheaded its official arrival in India.

  • Model 3: the compact sedan that brought Tesla to the masses.
  • Model S: the original luxury flagship sedan.
  • Model Y: the crossover that launched Tesla India.
  • Model X: the large SUV with falcon-wing doors.
  • Cybertruck: the stainless pickup, obtainable in India solely through imports.
  • Tesla Semi: the electric heavy truck for long-haul freight.

Tesla's other businesses include home batteries, solar products and charging hardware.
