Overview
Spend an evening crawling past Silk Board junction and you quickly understand what a Bengaluru car needs: a cabin that feels like a calm, connected office, a gearbox that never complains about stop-start traffic and enough comfort to make a ninety-minute commute bearable. Then the weekend arrives, and the same car is expected to climb to Nandi Hills before sunrise or tackle a muddy estate road beyond Madikeri. Very few luxury SUVs are truly good at both. The Nissan Patrol Y63 is one of them.
This is the seventh generation of a nameplate that began in 1951. Nissan unveiled the Y63 in Abu Dhabi in September 2024 and started GCC sales two months later, replacing the old Y62 and its 5.6-litre V8. The new car is a clean break: a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 on LE trims, a dashboard made of two 14.3-inch displays under one glass panel, Google built-in as the operating system and a comprehensive driver assistance package. For a city that runs on technology, the Patrol finally has a cabin to match its off-road reputation.
It also sits in an interesting place in Bengaluru's luxury market. Land Cruisers, Range Rovers and German three-row SUVs are familiar sights in Sadashivanagar, Koramangala and along the Whitefield corridor. A Y63 Patrol is not. For founders, senior technology leaders and established business families who want something both capable and uncommon, that rarity is part of the appeal.
Nissan India sells the Magnite and X-Trail through its dealers, but it does not sell or officially service the Patrol Y63. The car is available through Big Boy Toyz as an inspected import with verified documentation. Bengaluru buyers can contact the BBT showroom on Residency Road, Richmond Town, to arrange a viewing and go through trims, financing and Karnataka registration.
