Overview
Mention the Nissan Patrol in a Hyderabad drawing room and someone will usually have a story about one: a relative's white Patrol in Riyadh, a dune drive outside Dubai, a family road trip across Oman. Few cities in India have such strong personal links to the Gulf, and few understand as instinctively what the Patrol represents there. It is the car that families trust, the car that crosses deserts, and the car that arrives at weddings with quiet authority.
The Y63 is the newest chapter of that story and the seventh generation of a line that began in 1951. Nissan revealed it in Abu Dhabi in September 2024 and launched it across the GCC in November 2024, replacing the V8-powered Y62. The new Patrol uses a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 on LE trims and a 3.8-litre V6 on SE trims, and its cabin has been completely redesigned around twin 14.3-inch screens and Google built-in.
Hyderabad suits it well. The city's wide arterial roads, the 158-kilometre Outer Ring Road and the fast highways towards Bengaluru and Vijayawada all play to the twin-turbo's strengths. In Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, where roads rise and fall over the Deccan's rocky terrain and bungalow driveways are often steep, the Patrol's torque and commanding view make daily driving easy. And when temperatures climb above 40 degrees in April and May, a car engineered for Gulf summers comes into its own.
Nissan India sells the Magnite and X-Trail and runs a dealer network, but it does not sell or officially service the Patrol Y63. The car is available through Big Boy Toyz as an imported vehicle with verified documentation, and Hyderabad buyers can contact the BBT showroom on Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, to arrange a viewing and discuss trims, finance and Telangana registration.
