Porsche Cayenne S Platinum Edition Now in India at Rs. 1.27 Crore

After launching the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition back in July 2016, the German luxury carmaker has now launched the Platinum Edition of the more powerful Cayenne S, both diesel and petrol variants, on 8th February, 2017. The company has priced the petrol variant at Rs. 1.27 crore, whereas the diesel one will cost Rs. 1.31 crore (all prices are ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The Platinum Edition offers more features on board in both the variants as compared to the standard version of Cayenne S; however, mechanically there is no change in the figures.

The Cayenne S Platinum Edition comes with few cosmetic updates where the PCM (Porsche Communication Management) touchscreen interface has been tweaked and comes with navigation support and Bose audio system. Alcantara sport seats in leather along with the headrests are embossed with the company’s logo and support heating system but only for front seats with 8-way adjustment.

The exterior front of the luxury SUV has some prominent changes to make it look different from the original Cayenne S. New bi-xenon headlights having Dynamic Light System of Porsche have been added. The 18-inch wheels have now grown bigger at 21-inch with the arches bearing the color of the body and the company has added park assist sensor for front as well as rear, dynamic cornering system and automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors. The company has also added Platinum Edition badges on the door’s sill guards.

It is available in the following metallic color options apart from the regular palette of White and Black:

  • Mahogany
  • Jet Black
  • Carrara White
  • Rhodium Silver

Borrowing the mechanical figures from its elder sibling, the Platinum Edition of Cayenne S is powered by a 3.6-litre twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine with a displacement capacity of 3,604cc . Mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic S tranny, the petrol motor is capable of churning out a maximum power of 414BHP along with a torque of 550Nm. On the other hand, the 4.2-litre 8-cylinder diesel engine synced with the 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox belts out a power and a torque of 380BHP and 850Nm, respectively.
