Bentley is one of the finest car manufacturers the world has witnessed and this is the reason why the company owns the privilege of being associated with the Queen of England. Don't go deep into the meaning as we are talking about the special official state car (State Limousine) designed and developed by Bentley for the Queen of England. Now, carrying this legacy further, the British automaker has recently unveiled the grand form of its flagship Mulsanne range – Mulsanne Grand Limousine – at the ongoing 2016 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.
One look at the Grand Limousine is enough to make your jaw drop. The opulent beast with its astonishing scale is surely the thing to be chauffeured around, separating your from the hoi polloi. Everything in this grand voyager is just over the top as compared to its contemporaries, be it the spacious legroom, curtains for privacy or massaging seats, you name the comfort feature and the car has it. In short, the car is basically a stretched version of the 18-foot 3.5-inch Mulsanne with two additional rear-facing seats, which can easily and comfortably accommodate more than just two people.
Lengthier and taller than the Mulsanne by 1 meter & 79mm, respectively, the new Grand Limousine is provided with a new higher roof that adds more space and seats for the occupants. Handcrafted by Bentley's Mulliner coachbuilding division, the giant mean machine enjoys premium features which include face-to-face seating in the rear cabin much like private aviation and assured privacy with the smart glass.
The smart glass or better to say electrochromic glass is being used by Bentley for the first time. This enables the passengers to switch the glass of the rear-cabin and the interior division from clear to opaque or vice versa. The company has also implemented the new HVAC system to maintain the temperature within the cabin.
4 iPad charging and docking stations, a bottle cooler with crystal champagne flutes, veneered fold-out tables, and a soft drink cabinet coupled with tumblers, unique controls for rear features and an intercom facility to stay in touch with the chauffer are few of the bespoke features that this grand limo is blessed with.
At the event, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors, Wolfgang Dürheimer, said, "The Mulsanne Grand Limousine showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of our in-house coachbuilder, Mulliner and exemplifies the way in which our experts consult with a customer to turn their vision into an extraordinary reality. The attention to detail, quality, creativity and skill applied to every Mulliner commission is truly unique in the automotive world."
With "Coachbuilt by Mulliner" engraved at the flying "B" mascot, Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine will be available in dual-tone color scheme of Moroccan Blue & Silver Frost. The lower bumper grilles and the iconic chrome grille of Bentley cars are modified and iterated uniquely for this car specially. Keeping the stretched dimensions in mind, the super luxury sedan by Mulliner is provided with fully engineered engine coupled with transmission and re-structured suspension and chassis to give its passengers utmost comfort and safety.
There is no official word on the pricing and availability of this lavishly luxuriously astounding beauty throughout the world.
