Mercedes India Launched S-Class Connoisseurs Edition at Rs. 1.21 Crore

Mercedes in its continuous effort to bring the best in comfort, safety and power to its esteemed customers has launched two trims of its already established S-Class in India. These two models, the S350d and the S400 are launched with the Connoisseur Edition tag. Both these premium saloons will be manufactured at the company’s own manufacturing facility in Chakan, near Pune, Maharashtra. The price of Mercedes S350d is quoted to be around Rs. 1.21 crore and the S400 trim is believed to be near Rs. 1.32 crore, (both prices ex-showroom, Pune).

Among the two, the S350d with its 3.0-litre diesel engine has the ability to produce a maximum power of 262PS that results in a crushing torque of 620Nm. The S400 with a 3.0-litre petrol engine, on the other hand, produces a maximum power of 338PS with a lower torque ratio of 480Nm when compared to the diesel trim. Both the car has a maximum speed limit of 250Kmph but their rate of acceleration is slightly different. While the S350d can zoom from 0-100Kmph in just 6.8 seconds, the petrol trim, on the other hand, can achieve the same speed in 6.1 seconds. Both the power plants are integrated with a 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission system that transmits the power from the motor to the rear wheels of these big saloons efficiently.

However, the real change that Mercedes-Benz brought about in these two recently released trims is in their rear passenger cabin section, so that the riders can enjoy their journey more comfortably. The seat placed behind the front passenger’s seat in both the models has been redesigned and now comes with better thigh support and a footrest. You can also electronically incline this seat at an angle of 43.5 degrees to travel in comfort.

The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Connoisseur Edition also features an improved air balance package which has a more advanced ionisation system compared to the earlier S-Class variants. This advanced air balance package helps in filtering the air inside the passenger cabin better, resulting in improved quality of air available to the passengers.

The sound system of these two trims also has been upgraded by providing them with the famous Burmester sound system. While the S350d is provided with 13 speakers, the S400 is blessed with 24 speakers and nine tweeters with 23-channel amplifiers so that you get to hear your favourite track in crystal clear theatre like atmosphere. In addition to the comfort features, the two new premium sedans also get the much-admired Night view assist plus system. This system allows the driver to quickly identify a pedestrian or a large animal at night giving him ample time to avoid any accident.

The all new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Connoisseur Editions will compete against the likes of BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ.
