BMW, has always been successful at stealing our hearts. This time as well, the German luxury automaker has officially revealed the concept of BMW 8 series at the 2017 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and we just can't wait. This beauty is planned to be launched in 2018 after almost 2 decade break. Just as the name suggests, BMW 8 Series concept is just a concept and various other technical details like power figures, game-changing technologies, dimensions etc. are still left to be revealed (expected to be revealed later this year). Here it is, the first look at the upcoming BMW 8 Series Coupe.

BMW says that the bold look of this car will highly influence the appearance of the upcoming models and will set a benchmark for luxury coupes. We can say that this model will act as a testing ground for new designs we expect in the upcoming cars from the German automaker. Front-end and the chrome grille are totally new designs for BMW.

"The number 8 has always represented the pinnacle of sports performance and exclusivity at BMW. The forthcoming BMW 8 Series Coupe will demonstrate that razor-sharp dynamics and modern luxury can go hand-in-hand. This will be the next model in the expansion of our luxury-car offering and will raise the benchmark for coupes in the segment. In the process, we will strengthen our claim to leadership in the luxury class." says Harald Krueger, chair of the BMW board of management.

"The design of the BMW Concept 8 Series provides a fresh interpretation of iconic BMW styling cues," adds Van Hooydonk, the automobile designer behind many BMW concept cars and production vehicles.

The exterior comes with large air intakes, a large kidney grille and slim twin laser headlights which gives it a sporting character. The rear view is as classy as it's front view rounded off by the trapezoidal exhaust pipes, L-shaped lights and carbon-fibre diffuser. Every detail holds royalty, be it the flowing roofline, flared wheel arches, crisp lines or 21 inch light alloy wheels.

The interior of this concept car is designed keeping in mind a driver's wants while focusing on the driving experience and how each individual element helps to assist performance. The steering wheel comes with hand-polished aluminium spokes. The car receives a ground gearshift lever and carbon-fibre shell sports seats. The iDrive Controller is made from Swarovski glass.
