Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4matic LWB is an entry-level variant which is the most affordable in the Mercedes-Benz GLE lineup which consists of 4 variants. Under the front, it is powered by the smallest engine measured as 1950cc, turbocharged, in-line 4-cyl diesel engine which is punching out 245PS / 242BHP power at 4200 RPM and 500NM max torque from 1600 to 2400 RPM. Power is channeled to all-four wheels via an intelligent 4matic - all wheel drive system. Transmission duties are done by 9G tronic automatic transmission. The performance figures stand at 7.2sec for 0-100kmph acceleration run, flat out it will do 225kmph top speed. This new generation Mercedes-Benz GLE offers many update changes over the previous generation model hence it commands premium over the outgoing model. Mercedes-Benz India has priced this variant at Rs 79.90 lakh ex-showroom India.

Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4matic LEB comes with an updated face and overall body design. This has grown a big bigger, as with this generation it is available in a long wheelbase model only. Front grille has been updated, it has grown wider and features sharp contours, at the centre sits the Mercedes STAR flaunted by double slatted grille decorated in chrome elements. Front bumper gives a bit more aggressive design with bigger air intake vents on the side with a functional centre section that combines with the front grille to feed cool air to the front engine. Lower profile on the front engine features a faux skid plate which not only gives it a bit more approach angle but it gives the rugged look to the front profile. Headlights is an all-new unit which is an LED high performance setup with double signature LED daytime running lamp and features an active cornering system as standard. Side profile features chrome side window surrounds with black electrically operated outside rear view mirror arm with body colour mirror cap. Fixed aluminium illuminated side step board allows for ebay ingress and egress. Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4matic LWB sits on a pair of 19-inch 10-spoke light alloy wheels in bright silver finish which comes with a pair of 235/55 R19 tubeless rubber on each axle. Mercedes-Benz India’s iconic airmatic suspension on both the axles lets you glide over any tarmac very easily and doesn’t hamper the plush and smooth ride quality Mercedes-Benz’s luxury vehicles provide. Rear profile is an evolution of the previous generation models, it features redesigned slimmer, longer and split LED tail lights with integrated LED fog lamp. Power operated redesigned tailgate features 630-litres luggage space with flat floor, it can house 6-full size luggage set easily and for added practicality rear seats can be folded electrically to get access to more than 1500-litres of usable space. 

Interior is very upmarket with the design language Mercedes-Benz India has used to decorate this new generation Mercedes-Benz GLE. Driver zone is all digital, it features 12.3-inch high definition display which features multiple graphical screens that work in conjunction to Mercedes Dynamic Select - driving modes. Multifunctional steering wheels are all new leather wrapped sport steering wheels which feature touchpad controls on both the sides along with perforated texture for added grip and comfort. This is an electrically assisted unit which can be adjusted for reach and rake - manually. Comfort and convenience features include : 4-Zone Automatic Climate control system, Panoramic Sunroof with fixed rear moonroof, wireless smartphone charging pad upfront, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, Brown open-pore walnut wood interior inlays, Mercedes-Benz aluminium side sill, front cabin gets a pair of electrically adjustable comfort seats with 4-way lumbar, manual headrest restraint, passive side boosters, rear cabin gets a more conventional bench seating layout with electrically adjustable outer seats with manual headrest restraint and foldable armrest, Power operated rear window blinds, 12.3-inch high definition touchscreen entertainment display upfront which comes paired with Advanced Sound System capable of producing 225 watts maximum output though 9 speakers setup, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-built Apps, input ports at rear cabin for optional rear entertainment package.
