What You're Paying For

The total cost of armouring a car breaks down into three components. Understanding them helps you compare quotes fairly and know exactly what you're getting.
Ballistic Materials

The single largest cost. Ballistic steel plates — fitted to the floor, firewall, B-pillars, and roof — and multi-laminate ballistic glass together account for 55–65% of total cost. B6- rated glass alone costs ₹6–10 lakh per vehicle depending on size.

Labour Integration

Engineering work to integrate materials without any visible change to the car's appearance. This includes door hinge reinforcement, door seal systems, run-flat tyre fitting, and suspension upgrades to carry the added weight — 120 to 300 kg depending on protection level.

Certification & Testing

Every Big Boy Toyz armouring job is certified to NIJ and EN 1063 ballistic standards. Documented ballistic testing is required for RTO registration of an armoured vehicle. Certification is included in all BBT packages — no separate charge.

The single biggest price driver. B6 uses thicker ballistic glass and heavier steel plates than B4. B6 is typically 60–80% more expensive than B4 on the same vehicle. B7 is priced on request and is rarely required for civilian use.
Full armouring covers doors, floor, roof, firewall, and fuel tank. Partial protection covers doors and glass only and costs less — but a gap in coverage is a gap in protection. Big Boy Toyz only offers full-coverage armouring.
Vehicles under three years old are ideal — lower prep cost and better resale value after armouring. Older vehicles may require suspension reinforcement or structural prep before armouring can begin, adding cost and time.
Run-flat tyres are standard in all BBT packages. Optional additions include intercom systems, emergency escape hatches, siren systems, and electrified door handles — each carries a separate cost.
