McLaren 600LT Spider India
McLaren 600LT Spider is a drop-top version of the hardcore model based on McLaren 570S Spider. It features a two-part metal folding roof mechanism that makes it look like a Coupe when the roof is placed up and it does not lose either the structural rigidity or design cues when the roof is stored away. McLaren 600LT Spider is powered by a 3.8-litre Twin-Turbocharged V8 engine that punches out 600PS / 592BHP of power at 7500 RPM and 620NM of torque at 5500 - 6500 RPM sending power to rear set of wheels and controlled via 7-Speed Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission. McLaren 600LT Spider is a rare and special supercar sits at the top of the McLaren Automotive’s “Sports Series” although it is limited by the production unit numbers but it is limited by time, McLaren Automotive produced them for the next one year of unveiling and keeping in mind their annual production capacity is right around 5000 supercar that makes it rare and special car to hold on. In the USA it is priced at $256,500 so if we calculates the local prices in India considering US Dollar exchange rate in Dec 2020 and keeping the high import duties in check on CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit) the local prices for McLaren 600LT Spider is coming out at Rs 6.09 crore ex-showroom India.
McLaren 600LT Spider features
The McLaren 600LT Spider is a stripped out convertible model based on the McLaren 600LT Coupe that comes with following features: At front it features a pair of automatic adaptive LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. These headlights are carved in the shape of McLaren Speed Logo, front splitter is completely revised to give more aggressive look but it serves the important purpose to generate downforce at front axle and angular design of the front splitter channels the air though the side of the car to give more corner stability while carving the apex high speed of shed-off millisecond from the lap times. Front profile features a front trunk with a luggage carrying capacity of 150-litres. Side profile is more or less the same compared to the car it is based on, the McLaren 570S Spider. To give a more aggressive side profile it is fitted with side skirts that are not only good aggressive and enhances the appeal of the car but it channels out the air throughout the side of the car and helps to manage the aerodynamic efficiency while traveling at obliterating speeds. The McLaren 600LT comes fitted with 19-inch forged multi-spoke alloy wheels which come wrapped in mixed profile high-performance tires at front and at the rear. Where the combination of 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy and bigger 20-inch forged alloy wheels with multiple alloy finishes can be upgraded-to by paying optional extras. Braking setup is taken directly from its Coupe sibling McLaren 600LT Coupe. Suspension setup is all the same with independent aluminium double wishbone suspension arms at each corner with adaptive dampers calibrated to withstand the higher lateral forces. McLaren Automotive uses Carbon Fibre Monocoque Tub which gets its rigidity from the sides of the tub but not from the roof so while removing the roof of the car, structural rigidity has not been compromised at that extent compared to supercars with conventional chassis structure. Hence its McLaren 600LT Spider doesn't compromise structural rigidity and retains the same performance figures as its coupe sibling. The roof is a two-part metal folding mechanism that is electrically assisted and can be operated upto the rolling speed of 31mph or 50kmph. When the roof is stored away and both the occupants are exposed with nature, rear deck lid with rigid buttresses are there for extra protection in case of roll-over accident. Rear profile retains the same design elements than of the McLaren 600LT Coupe with single carbon fibre piece of rear diffuser and rear bumper as a single part and it is the largest body panel used by McLaren Automotive on their entire range of supercars and hypercars. Fixed Carbon Fibre rear spoiler adds to the sense of drama but provides much needed downforce at rear axle, it comes into play virtually when traveling at high-speeds.
Interiors are stripped out and upholstered in alcantara rather than leather used in McLaren 570S Spider. It not only looks good but provides much needed weight reduction compared to leather. Steering wheels is an electro-hydraulic assisted unit which is a carbon black trimmed in alcantara three spoke steering wheel which comes with manual adjustment for reach and rake. Steering column mounted paddle shifters are made from carbon fibre and give the manual controls over the 7-Speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Instrument cluster is a 10-inch high-definition colour LED display features updated graphics depending upon the different driving modes on offer that can be accessed via twin-toggles situated right at the centre of the dashboard below the entertainment screen. Front cabin features a pair of sports seats taken directly from the “Ultimate Series” hypercar introduced in 2014 - McLaren P1. These seats are stripped out and back in the time was the most profound bucket seats offered by McLaren Automotive since then technology has made its way forward and we have seen a hollow carbon fibre shelled seat with fixed backrest - first introduced in 2018 with McLaren Senna. These seats can save more than 21kgs over the normal sports seats and these seats can be equipped with a 4-point racing harness at an additional cost. 2-Zone Automatic Climate Control system, alcantara trimmed dashboard, alcantara headliner, cupholders, one-touch up/down power windows, front and rear parking sensors, piano black interior inlays, 7-inch high definition touchscreen display, 4-Speaker Standard Music System, 6-airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, TC, TPMS, cornering brake control all are the part of standard equipment list whereas track telemetry system, reversing camera with adaptive guidance, head-up display, heated steering wheel, carbon fibre interior inlays, carbon fibre exterior pack 1 and 2, sports exhaust system, drivers’ driving aids can be equipped as a part of optional extras.

These seats come with lateral side support around the waist part and shoulders part that plays a crucial part while experiencing high G-Forces.
