McLaren 570 GT is a more practical sports car cum gran tourer based on McLaren 570S Coupe. It features a revised canopy-like rear boot lid with re-engineered rear boot space area. Rear mid-mounted engine has been ureter pushed downwards to improve the centre-of-gravity and making room for much needed luggage space for grand touring. Just like any rear mid-engined sports car it retains the front luggage compartment. McLaren India claims the luggage carrying capacity combining the front and rear boot is 370-Litre which is unthinkable considering the other sports cars with similar performance. McLaren 570 GT is powered by a 3.8-Litre Twin-Turbocharged V8 Petrol engine which punches out 570PS / 562BHP of power and 600NM of torque, power is going to rear wheels only via 7-Speed Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission and controlled via electronically limited slip differential. The performance figures are impressive at 3.4sec from 0-100kmph and maxed out it will do 328kmph top speed. In the USA, McLaren 570 GT is priced at $198.950, keeping US dollar exchange rates (Nov 2020) in mind and considering the high import duties in India, the local prices calculate at Rs 4.72 crore before adding any pricey options over and above the standard car.

McLaren 570 GT comes loaded with following features that includes a revised rear decklid comes with a canopy-like glass side hinged boot lid that features 220-Litres of rear luggage space despite having a rear-mounted V8 engine. Rear space has been cleverly engineered with lowering down the engine not only to give a better centre of gravity but gives the flexibility to utilize that space for the rear luggage compartment. Special material shielding has been used to luggage space and does not get affected much with the heat generated by a massive engine. Rear luggage space can accommodate a full set of Golf kit along with the luggage bags needed for a weekend round trip. McLaren India offers a set of luggage bags custom fits in the front and rear luggage space at an additional cost. Front profile retains the same character elements from the other siblings from McLaren Sports Series of supercars. A pair of automatic LED headlights with adaptive auto-leveling headlight comes standard. Front nose lifting system is kept as an option where front and rear parking sensors are kept as an standard option. Side profile features a 19-inch 15-Spoke cast GT style alloy wheels wrapped around 225/35 R19 tires at front and 285/35 R19 tires at the rear. Suspension setup is an independent double wishbone aluminium arms at front and at the rear with GT tune adaptive damping tuning. Front braking setup has a 394mm Carbon Ceramic Brakes with 6-Piston Caliper and 380mm Carbon Ceramic Brakes discs at the rear with 4-Piston Caliper as standard. Side roofline is smooth tapered down towards the rear inorder to maximize the rear luggage space. Rear profile retains the pair of LED tail lights with third parking light situated at the centre. Stainless steel exhaust system comes standard with dual exited exhaust system - one on either side finished in palladium grey. Interiors are decorated in fine leather upholstery with extended leather elements are kept standard too that includes leather trimmed steering wheel, leather extended towards centre console, upper dashboard section in leather, door cart trimmed in leather and leather headliner. 8-Way Electric Comfort seats are kept standard with preset memory function for driver and co-driver. Heated seats, fixed headrest restraint all comes with the comfort seat package. Driver zone includes 10-inch fully digital high definition display with updated graphics works in conjunction with multiple driving modes operated via dual toggles situated in the centre section of the dashboard. Steering wheel is an electro-hydraulic unit trimmed in perforated leather supported by an electric adjustment for rear and rake. Since McLaren 570 GT is powered by a rear-mid engined V8 engine, there were no space to put-in the luggage in the rear compartment for that McLaren Automotive have hunkered-down the engine even closer to the ground improving the centre of gravity and making much room to house 220-litre of luggage space above the engine and in the engine compartment. Engine compartment could be a very hot place to store the luggage, for that McLaren Automotive uses the aero-grade material that keeps the heat outside from the luggage compartment. Rear decklid is completely new in the McLaren 570 GT which opens like a side-hinged glass canopy making it easier to store the golf kit. Suspension damping technology has been calibrated for the GT style of driving rather than Sports calibration used in McLaren 570S Coupe - the supercar on which McLaren 570 GT is based.
