Mercedes-Benz Launches Maybach S600 Guard in India for Rs. 10.5 Crore

The German automakers always knew how to keep their name alive in automobile market and succeeding in the same row, Mercedes-Benz recently launched the highly awaited uber-luxury sedan, Maybach S600 Guard, in India at a substantial price of Rs. 10.5 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) ONLY. Last year has been quite a successful year for this German car manufacturer where the loyal Mercedes fans saw 15 new products with a massive jump of 32% in sales as compared to the year 2014.

This year the number has been reduced to 12 only out of which the company has already launched Mercedes-Benz E-class Edition E last month and GLE 450 AMG Coupe in January alongside the unveiling of F1 W07 Hybrid and Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 4MATIC Cabriolet & Coupe. S600 Guard is the armored version of the S600 with VR10 certification (as per the Version 2 of Directive Bullet Resistant Vehicles – BRV – 2009), which gives this mean machine the highest ranking in civilian cars convoy.

The robust look, latest equipment, top-of-the-line features and highest order safety components are more than enough to justify the hefty price of Maybach S600 Guard. The saloon can easily withstand 15 kilograms of TNT blast at a distance of 4 meters along with resistance to explosive fragmentation charges from the side. In fact, the windows of S600 Guard can protect you from the Dragunov sniper rifle, thanks to the toughen polycarbonate coating.

Also, keeping the safety norms top priority, the engineers at Mercedes-Benz have designed the engine in such a manner that it can heal itself and won't catch fire or explode even if it gets a direct hit from the explosive. And not to forget the PAX run-flat tyres that on being damaged can easily take the passengers to a safe location.

From the inside, the luxury sedan comes with highest quality of equipment, leather and features that are lacking in most of the luxury cars. Either you talk about luxury or state-of-the-art amenities; you will find everything in Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard. The car has an exit hatch for the passengers to move out of the vehicle in case it cannot move from its position due to any reason. Also, there is a button inside the cabin that can evacuate the poisonous gases from the car with a single press.

The powerhouse of S600 Guard is a 6.0-liter V12 petrol that can churn out a maximum power of 523PS and a peak torque of 830Nm, which is the same used in Mercedes S600 Limousine. The car can attain a top speed of 190kmph and can reach a mark of 100kmph in just 7.9 seconds from a standstill.

The deadly beast will follow the CBU route to hit the Indian shores and will be made to order. When available, the saloon will compete with the recently launched Audi A8L that will be available at Rs. 9.15 crores.
