When it comes to something super outrageous as the supercar segment, you might think that it would never really need shaking up. But that's not the case – every once in a while, you have to have something that reorders the breed – that brings an ultimate change in the era. Or you need to have good challengers on the other end competing with anything which makes you feel live on the road. But sometimes just the presence of a new marque is enough of a disruptor to put everyone on guard.
And that's what happened exactly with R8. Not only did it introduce a new powerful performer in the segment but also added a new approach and groundbreaking styling. In a way, they rationalized the supercar.
The new Audi R8 plus is the new model for the R8 class with 5.2L V10 engine and 550 hp and is equipped with S tronic, which can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of around 317 Km/h. The car has a 7 speed DCT transmission and is an all-wheel drive. When you shift into the sports mode for more fun, then the true character of the car reveals itself. The R8 V-10 Plus spits like a mad beast on a chain with a tap of the brake, and springs forward like a freed demon when the accelerator is toed. The car handles the curves like a straight line and is not a machine that likes to stay idle, not even shift it into the park. The only way to stop it is to turn the engine off.
The R8 V10 has always been a seriously approachable supercar, and the Plus serves up more of the same with extra speed for good measure. It remains an easy thing to drive slowly: the steering is light and clean, the visibility is decent, and those ceramic brakes are unusually progressive even when cold.
The throttle of the car responses like it will push you back as if you have been knocked by Zeus' bowling ball. The R8 has always been like a flagship car to Audi and this car have led people to more excitement, hoping for the same level of competition with its competitors.
