Ferrari 488GTB Launched in India at Rs. 3.88 Crores

The Italian marquee is back with a bang again! Yes, none other than our very own favorite Ferrari has finally launched its highly awaited 488GTB sports car in India at a hefty price of Rs. 3.88 crores only (ex-showroom Delhi). Those car aficionados who were waiting with bated breaths for this model to get released in India can now purchase it from their nearest authorized Ferrari dealership showroom.

Ferrari is famous worldwide for its highly customizable sports cars that have added a glorious past to the history of the company. This time too, the Italian auto maker has tried its level best to break its earlier records with its all new 488GTB.

Though claimed to be all new, the beauty does carry a strong resemblance to its predecessor. With almost 85% of new looks, the car has been designed in a manner to achieve better aerodynamic efficiency, although the roof design is as same as the previous model.

Well, if you are thinking that this is the only reason making this 488GTB a unique innovation, then you are highly mistaken as the powerhouse of the vehicle is the 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged F154 V8 that is capable of generating a humungous power of 670bhp @8000rpm and a peak torque of 760Nm @3000rpm, which earlier was restricted to 562bhp of power only.

The same engine has been used in many Ferrari and Maserati lineups.

The powerpacked engine is mated to an improved F1 7-speed gearbox with double clutch, which can thrust the beast to attain a top speed of 330kmph along with sprinting 100kmph within 3 seconds from a standstill.

Taking inspiration from the F1 design, the front double spoiler along with aero-pillar combination helps in the diversion of the air efficiently and fast. On the other hand, the inside of Ferrari 488GTB has been blessed with a good quality carbon fibre and the colored leather options with contrast stitching give the cabin an amazing look. The steering wheel is same as the F1, which bears the popular Manettino drive mode selector

According to the Ferrari's Sales coordinator, Aurelien Sauvard, "India is an important market for us as it is a growing economy and second there are true fans of Ferrari cars here. So there are opportunities for growth in this market."

The successor of Ferrari 458 Italia model, 488GTB is making its debut in India after keeping its loyal fans waiting for almost a year. The company first unveiled the car at the 2015 Geneva Motor show.

At the same time last year, the iconic sports car maker, Ferrari, launched its California T at a price of Rs. 3.45 crores (ex-showroom Delhi).
