Finally the Indians can now get their piece of luxury booked, as the royal British carmaker, Aston Martin, has launched its 2016 Rapide in India at a whopping price of Rs. 3.29 crore (ex-showroom, Thane). The new model of the sports car comes with a tweaked features, engine and upgraded design. The supercar is launched in India in collaboration with the popular division of Infinity Cars dealership, Performance Cars, which means that the 2016 Rapide will be available only in Mumbai, as per the company sources.
In terms of safety, the marque has given the utmost priority and therefore has guarded the sports vehicle with 8 airbags, dual pre-tensioning seat belts, advanced bonded aluminium structure to avoid higher crash loads and load limiting technology for all the passengers. Also, the company has also made a lot of minor alterations in the design of the facelifted 2016 Aston Martin Rapide, which include the expanded size of the front grille and the placement if the new DRL lamps on both the sides to provide the sports car a unique and unusual look.
The company claims that the grille used in the 2016 Rapide are the world’s largest grille that have clear the norms laid for the safety of the pedestrians.
The recently launched Rapide is blessed with an all new AMI III infotainment system that emerged from the central console when asked for. Along with the facility of the smooth smartphone connectivity with the infotainment system, the automaker has also introduced the readouts for the real time power and torque in the 6.5-inch display.

On the engine front, Aston Martin has provided the 2016 Rapide with 6.0L V12 powertrain coupled with an 8-speed automatic ZF gearbox and can churn out a maximum power of 510bhp. Producing a throttling sound, the engine can attain a top speed of 306kmph and can clock the sports car to 100kmph from a standstill in mere 4.6 seconds. The powertrain of Rapide has 2 ECUs; each specialized in monitoring the six engine cylinders.
