The most expensive cars in the world are not mere means of transportation. Massive in Style and Power, these are truly spectacular, mind blowing machines. These are not just gorgeous looking metal boxes but, beauty and brilliance on wheels!

Here, we are discussing the second list of supercars that are sold way above their original prices. Did you know that the oldest car ever sold in the history of auctions at the highest price was De Dion, Bouton et Trépardoux Dos-à-Dos Steam Runabout "La Marquise" (1884) that was sold for $4,860,000?

So, if you have recently landed on an oil reserve somewhere, or if you've got some money to blow, this list is definitely for you:

You can get a good idea of the importance of this particular car by the fact that it was the D-Types that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955, 1956, and 1957. Being undisputedly one of the most striking race cars ever devised, the car was sold for a staggering US$21,780,000, thus breaking many records.

One of the most sophisticated, modern and convincing sports cars of its generation, the Alfa Romeo 8C was sold for a lump sum US$19,800,000 at the Monterey auction, 2016. One of the most desired sports cars in the world, this beauty is believed to be one of the rarest pieces ever made in the history of automobiles.

The ultimate Italian sports beauty, it is one of only 12 Spiders ever produced. There is thus, no denying of its rarity!

One of just only 37 made, the topless piece of beauty sold to an anonymous international collector for a record US$18,500,000 – far higher than first estimations. Sold in February 6, 2015 this was the highest amount of money ever paid for 250 GT of any kind. Money cannot buy happiness but would you rather cry in a Ferrari? Well, we guess your answer is not likely to be a NO, especially if it's Ferrari 250!

Manufactured in 1931, this is one of the most expensive cars ever sold in the world. Ettore Bugatti intended on creating 25 of these cars, and selling them to the royals. However, sadly, even the royalty wasn't planning to buy such expensive stuff during the depression period of the economy.

So, they finally made 6 only. Being one of the most classic cars in the world, Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe was sold for US$ 9,800,000.

Drooling, yet? We are pretty sure you are.

Here's something fun for you to think about in the end – Which of these supercars would you place your bid on if you had a few million dollars to spare?
